everything i write here is highly subjective
i just want to write down fresh impressions to reread later
please don't take it to heart
everything is cool if it gives you happiness

Brokeback Mountain (2005) Cult film in it's subject matter. I liked the cowboy setting. Beautiful nature, excellent acting, which is not surprising. The problem as a whole is well solved, but perhaps the interaction of the main characters was not enough for me to get attached to them. It is unclear why they fell in love with each other in the first place. I would like more platonic displays of their feelings and conversations. Due to her lack of affection for the characters, I only shed a tear at the end. Psychological trauma is nevertheless present.

As You Are (2016) 😐🔫 wtf how to understand it at all... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Is Jack in the dress a reference to Kurt the Combine? Wtf.... I liked THE SUDDEN PLOT TWIST. There are some embarrassing points, however. Not for my eyes. In general, main character was very sympathetic at first. Overall, the impression is positive, but it's a mess. It was worth suspecting something was wrong when the music became psychedelic. And I wanted just a movie about skateboarding rockers. The picture is beautiful, it makes sense to draw the frames)

Scott Pilgrim takes off (2023) Very beautiful art style! In fact, this is an alternate universe in which Scott does not defeat Matthew Pattel. It's an interesting idea, and I really liked the Knives and Gordon Goose lines. But damn Wallace, even though he's still the most charismatic character, but I went through all the degrees of cringe, for what....?? Nevertheless, I am very happy for him and his husband, who works at Nintendo (he gets games.... For free?????? 😧😧😧). Of course, as an old, I would like to see the good old Scott Pilgrim for the sixth (???) time, but in the cartoon format. By the way, you could have left the joke about spam ☝🏻 The movie is still cooler (or not?), but the cartoon is also very good. And music, as usual. I am very glad that almost everything was clear in English)

Fiona and Cake (2023) It was very cool! At first, I thought that all the actions would take place in a realistic world, but in fact it turned out not to be the case. But nevertheless, I really liked it anyway! I shed a tear at the moment when Marshall Lee asked Gary how his cookie men met, because I really wish someone was just as interested in me. And in Simon's flashbacks. Actually, his love story is very deep. I liked that in the end it turned out that he should have listened to Betty more often, although it seems to me that she shouldn't have sacrificed herself all the time either. Maybe I'm just in such a sentimental mood right now, but everything that's happening has resonated with me

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) It's a masterpiece!!!! I have no idea how people can come up with something like that. Kubrick is sitting there and thinking: "hmm, a black parallelepiped...". (OH, that's according to the story, BUT NEVERTHELESS)?Just sooooo???? Every frame is a painting! In each frame, the caloric and composition are simply top notch!!!!! Especially the gorgeous landscapes. I also liked the combination of classical music and some kind of absolute psychedelic. I don't know why black screens with epic music were needed, but I liked them too. The crossings are also steep. Sudden ones. The frame abruptly approaches, the music stops, and another scene immediately follows. I would like to note separately that Kubrick, apparently, pays attention to fonts. They look incredibly harmonious and modern. What's in here, what's in Dr. Strangelove

Whiplash (2014) I watched it for the second time. The first one was on Olesha's stream. It's his favorite movie. I wasn't very impressed at the time. Now, it seemed to me, I understood him better. I think I feel better about the main character now. I would like to become great too. But I don't quite agree with their conductor's methods. He's right that a genius wouldn't break down, but how many people did he hurt to find that one? You can say that the goal justifies the loss, but maybe these people are geniuses in another field. Even if they don't, their lives are no less valuable. Like last time, I was particularly impressed by the scene when the main character was hit by a truck, and he got out of an overturned car and ran to the performance covered in blood. I would never have thought that the color of the heroes' T-shirts mattered. Although I guessed correctly that everything turns orange when the main character sees the way to his goal.
